In 2022, a new chapter began when the hotel was acquired by Dr. Joan Labuschagne. A Richards Bay native, Dr. Labuschagne returned home after 27 years in the United Kingdom and Europe, where she owned two successful restaurants in Wiltshire and mastered the culinary arts alongside icons like Marco Pierre White.
Today, Dr. Labuschagne has transformed the hotel into a unique lifestyle concept. Guided by her belief that true healing begins with the purest ingredients, she has bridged the gap between European high-culture and coastal South African warmth.
